The H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine now available
The H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine is now available at our Sewickley and Moon Township offices. We recommend that you receive the H1N1 flu vaccine (as well as the seasonal flu vaccine). This is also the recommendation of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists). The H1N1 flu can be very serious in pregnant women and in young children. Both the seasonal flu vaccine and the H1N1 flu vaccine are safe in pregnancy and in breast feeding. If you don’t already have a scheduled appointment with us in the near future, we recommend that you call our office to schedule your H1N1vaccine injection. Our Sewickley office can be reached by calling 412.741.6530, and our Moon Township office can be reached by calling 412.264.2450.Please Note: We will be administering the vaccines only to our pregnant patients and to those women who have delivered a baby with us within the last six months. For other family members, please contact the office of your primary care doctor.
Recognizing Excellence
Premier Women’s Health is proud to announce that it is the recipient of two 2009 American Graphic Design Awards. Its brochure “Your Pregnancy Guide” and the Diagnostic Imaging of Sewickley brand identity were honored. The award-winning pieces were designed by Paulette Green, P Green Design. The American Graphic Design Awards is a four-decade-old national competition that is open to everyone in the graphic arts community. It honors outstanding new work of all kinds in 23 categories. Always among the largest design competitions, this year saw 8,000+ entries. Of these, a highly selective 15 percent were recognized with an Awards Certificate of Excellence.
Bringing Healthcare Knowledge to the Community
This fall, Premier Women’s Health joined more than 35 other area businesses at the Ambridge Area Community Health Fair at the Ambridge Field House, Ambridge, PA.
In June, Dr. Frank DiCenzo, physician assistant Laura Silverman, and staff members from Premier Women’s Health participated in a health fair and provided women’s health care information at the Hilton Garden Inn Southpointe, Canonsburg, PA. Dr. DiCenzo presented a talk on “Innovative Solutions for Common Gynecologic Problems,” which highlighted several innovative procedures offered at Premier Women’s Health, including in-office tubal sterilization, endometrial ablation, and laparoscopic hysterectomy.
Premier Women’s Health also provided complimentary osteoporosis screening tests at the health fair, which was sponsored by WORD-FM.
Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness
Premier Women’s Health was also delighted to participate in the Young Women’s Breast Cancer Foundation Fourth Annual Fashion Show Luncheon, a sold-out event held this spring at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Coraopolis, PA.
Since more and more women under age 40 are being diagnosed with breast cancer, the mission of this foundation has become critical: to educate as many people as possible about breast cancer and the importance of early detection. To learn more, visit http://www.youngwomensbreastcancerfoundation.org
